The shaft tile is a sliding bearing in the engine crank connecting rod mechanism, which is mainly divided into two categories:

Crankshaft bearing (large bearing): installed on the cylinder block to support the rotation of the crankshaft.

Connecting rod bearing (small bearing): Installed in the connecting rod head, it connects the connecting rod and the crankshaft.

Common faults and diagnosis

Shaft bearing failures are mostly caused by poor lubrication, improper gap, overload or impurities. Common faults are as follows:

1. Burning bearing (holding shaft): the most serious failure, the rupture of the oil film leads to dry friction. It is usually caused by lack of oil, failure of oil pump or improper gap.
2. Alloy layer wear/peeling: normal loss may be caused by impurities "cutting", overload, etc. If the oil contains a large amount of metal powder, it is an important signal.
3. Shaft bearing corrosion: caused by the deterioration of lubricating oil and the corrosion of the alloy layer by acidic substances.
4. Abnormal noise:

Connecting rod bearing noise: clear short knocking sound at medium speed.

Spindle bearing noise: heavy and muffled knocking sound, the higher the rotation speed, the greater the movement.

Maintenance

1. Shaft bearing gap: the most critical indicator. Precision measurements such as inner diameter micrometers are required. The gap between the spindle tiles is usually 0.06-0.11mm.
2. Contact area: The contact area between the shaft tile and the shaft neck should be greater than 75%.
3. Crankshaft inspection: The roundness, cylindricality and crankshaft curvature of the crankshaft neck must be checked.
4. Standard torque: All bolts must be tightened with a torque wrench according to the manual.
