Frame Wiring Function

KNR12380 wiring harness serves as the main electrical backbone of the Sumitomo SH130-6 excavator, Link-belt 130X3 excavator and Case CX130C excavator, connecting the upper structure, cab, engine, and lower chassis. It routes power and signal circuits for engine sensors and actuators, cab controls and instrument panel, lighting and alarm systems, hydraulic solenoid valves, and travel control circuits and swing control circuits.

Preparation for Installing Wiring Harness

1. Preparation

• Read the manufacturer’s service manual and wiring diagram. Confirm the harness part number, connector pin out, and original routing.
• Turn off the engine, switch off the battery master switch, and disconnect the battery ground/negative terminal first.
• Wait for control units to power down before working on the harness.
• Work in a clean, dry area. Cover exposed connectors and hydraulic openings.

• Route the harness along the original path. Do not change routing unless approved by the manufacturer.
• Keep the harness away from exhaust pipes, turbochargers, hot engine parts, hydraulic lines, and moving parts such as fans, belts, linkages, and cylinders.
• Protect against abrasion, sharp edges, vibration, mud, water, oil, and fuel. Use corrugated tubing, conduit, grommets, and protective sleeves.
• Maintain the specified minimum bend radius. Do not kink, stretch, or pull the harness tight.
• Leave enough slack at articulation points, hinges, and flex joints.
• Secure the harness with OEM clips, brackets, and cable ties. Do not over-tighten ties.
• Position drain holes or drip loops downward so water cannot enter connectors.

• Use the correct sealed connectors and terminals. Make sure locks and clips are fully engaged.
• Do not force connectors. Check pin out, keying, and terminal position before mating.
• Keep signal wires away from high-current cables, alternator cables, and ignition cables. If crossing is unavoidable, cross at 90°.
• Clean ground points. Remove paint, rust, and corrosion. Tighten ground fasteners to the specified torque.
• Use sealed splices and heat-shrink tubing. Avoid splices in wet, exposed, or flexing areas.
